Majors: International Development Studies & History Double Major Year: 2020 Graduate
What do you enjoy most about your major? I love that my professors don't just feed me opinions I should take but train me to think for myself, especially in controversial topics relating to justice.
Why did you join UNA? Favorite Memory? I joined UNA when I was a brand new transfer looking for an International Development Studies-related club. I loved getting to work with my committee/board members throughout the 2 years, especially when we gave out free bagels on Bruinwalk for Red Hand Day!
Extracurriculars? I was heavily involved in UNA at UCLA! I was also a part of Intervarsity Christian Fellowship on campus.
Career goals and summer/post-graduate plans: After graduating, I plan to take a week to be a slug and just watch movies for a week! I'm debating between a Harry Potter marathon and Disney marathon. After that, I plan to study for the GRE and apply for grad school during my gap year. I also want to pick up new hobbies now that I have so much free time, including photography and rock climbing!
Advice for Incoming Students and/or Continuing Students? Yes, your exam scores and grades matter. Yes, your extracurricular activities and resume matters. But in the end, you won't look back at how well you did academically but at the relationships you built and the memories you made with people! I was always so busy studying and doing extracurricular activities that I missed out on a lot of quality time I could have had with my new friends. I really cherish the days I put academics second and prioritized having fun with my friends!
