June 2, 2020 We the United Nations Association Chapter at UCLA stand in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement and the Black community. As a chapter dedicated to advancing and protecting human rights, we will not be silent while our Black brothers and sisters are being murdered by those who swore to protect and serve.
George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor are just a few of the many victims of racism, injustice, and violence in America. As a society we have failed the Black community over and over again. It is time we unite and uplift the voices of those who have been oppressed for far too long.
We encourage everyone to take a moment to acknowledge their individual privilege and use this privilege to highlight Black narratives and experiences.
