What do you enjoy most about your major? I love that my public affairs classes teach me how to think about social and political problems and have introduced me to so many people who are passionate about social change. My economics classes are great because they provide me with a deeper understanding of the economy and the analytical skills to apply this understanding to solve problems.
Why did you join UNA? Favorite Memory? I joined UNA because I wanted to learn more about international development and global relations, and because I wanted to meet other students at UCLA who were interested in these same things. My favorite memory is definitely working with my SDG group to put together our table for the SDG Fair last year. Seeing it all come together and getting to help inform others about global issues was really rewarding and fun!
Extracurriculars? In addition to being part of UNA at UCLA, I am also involved in the Bruin Partners Service Organization and the Luskin Undergraduate Student Association.
Career goals and summer/post-graduate plans: I am not sure what I want to do after I graduate, but I am considering attending law school and then pursuing a career in public policy. This summer, I am interning with a non-profit Think Tank where I am helping to research policy solutions that we will be proposing as bills in the next legislative session.
Advice for Incoming Students and/or Continuing Students? Make the most of your time at UCLA and do what makes you happy! Take classes that you’re interested in, join clubs that inspire you, take advantage of all the amazing opportunities, and surround yourself with good friends!
